ABOUT ME
I'M BARBARA
Coming from a background in fine art and design, I believe in the power of simplicity.
I started photographing weddings part-time in 2010 and was so moved by the love and joy I witnessed that in 2012, I took the plunge and became a full-time photographer, leaving my job as a graphic designer.

PLACES I'VE LIVED
I was born and raised in South Africa, where I spent the majority of my life. As life took its course, I had the opportunity to live in Bahrain for a year before eventually finding myself in the United Kingdom, where I have now been for just over two years.

THINGS I LIKE
Honestly, I consume more caffeine than water daily. Coffee is my weakness!
I'm a huge fan of horror movies and anything Marvel Comics-related. The excitement they bring keeps me hooked.
Spring is my favorite season. The blooming flowers create a magical and joyful atmosphere that I adore.

MY HUMANS
I'm a mom to Luke, my seven-year-old budding artist, and Isla, a very, very busy little explorer who is four.
I've been married since 2009 to a very supportive husband who constantly puts up with all my crazy ideas.

MY TRAINING
With a Fine Art and Design background, I hold a BTech Degree in Textile Design & Technology (cum laude) from TUT.
Additionally, I have successfully completed a Diploma in Photography (TPI) and acquired certificates from various courses at Vega (National College of Photography) in Pretoria, South Africa.
Currently, I am pursuing a Diploma in Marketing and Advertising to further enhance my skills and knowledge in the field.

WHY WYATT + RUBY?
I'd been working under the name Ironrose Handcrafted Imagery since I started with photography, and when we relocated, I decided to start fresh with a new name that has a personal meaning to me.
In mid-2021, I rebranded as Wyatt & Ruby Imagery, which is derived from the middle names of my children, a nod to their significance in my life and the inspiration they bring to my work.
